Special Olympics Serbia and the Serbian School Sports Federation signed MOU
Belgrade - WSC in volleyball will not only be reserved for 64 male and female high school teams from 36 countries. It will be much larger and broader than that. Semi-final and final matches at the WSC will be preceded by the Unified volleyball, whit teams from Special Olympics Serbia, Poland and Germany. Cooperation between Special Olympics and the Serbian School Sports Federation is "logical and natural", as noted Zeljko Tanaskovic, president of Serbian School Sports Federation in today's signing of MOU with the Special Olympics at the Palace of Serbia.
- International School Sport Federation has been cooperating with the Special Olympics and when we know their and our values, all these things that they both advocate, we can say that this cooperation is more than logical and expected. For us this is a great pleasure that we will be together on the same task, and that Special Olympics will be part of the upcoming World School Championship - said Zeljko Tanaskovic
Director of Special Olympics Serbia Aleksandar Stanojevic pointed out that the WSC in volleyball is an ideal opportunity and place to implement some of the principles of this organization.
- Special Olympics is a sports association that enables persons with disabilities better integration in society through sports and sporting activities and this explain the reasons for signing this MOU with Serbian School Sports Federation. The goal of our organization is that throug the year organize trainings and competitions for people with intellectual deficiency in our country, and thus allows its athletes to participate in international competitions around the world. Through our activities we strive to improve the universal status of this population in our society, which they become full members of our community - emphasized Stanojevic.
WSC in volleyball will be held from 25 June to 3 July in Belgrade and Pancevo.
